Jaydnbrok Horology — Watch Service Terms and Conditions

1. Agreement and ownership

These terms govern watches and accompanying items submitted to Jaydnbrok Horology (“we,” “us,” or “our”) for inspection, servicing, repair, or restoration. The client (“you” or “your”) must accept these terms before services begin.

You confirm that you own the watch or have the owner’s authority to submit it, approve work, and accept these terms. You must provide accurate contact information, including a current email address and mailing address, and promptly notify us of any changes.

2. Submission and shipping

Include your contact details, the watch’s make and model, any available serial number, a description of the problem, and a list of accompanying items. Do not send presentation boxes, paperwork, or accessories unless requested.

You are responsible for securely packaging the watch and arranging appropriate tracking and insurance for shipping to us. Retain photographs and shipping records. We are responsible for exercising reasonable care while the watch is in our possession.

Return shipping arrangements, insurance coverage, and associated charges will be agreed upon before dispatch. Any shipping claim will be handled according to the carrier’s terms and applicable law. Nothing in these terms excludes responsibility for loss or damage caused by our negligence.

3. Inspection, estimates, and authorization

Submission authorizes reasonable inspection and diagnosis, including opening the watch where necessary. Any inspection or diagnostic charge must be disclosed and accepted in advance.

We will provide an estimate for proposed work. Estimates reflect the condition apparent during inspection; additional faults may become evident during disassembly or testing. We will obtain your approval before performing additional chargeable work beyond the approved scope.

If you decline an estimate, you remain responsible for previously approved diagnostic work and agreed return shipping charges.

4. Parts, restoration, and existing condition

Watches may contain worn, fragile, corroded, previously modified, or non-original components. We will document relevant conditions where reasonably practicable and advise you of material risks identified during inspection.

Polishing, refinishing, dial restoration, and alterations affecting originality require your approval. Where original parts are unavailable, proposed alternatives will be disclosed for approval. Tell us before work begins if you want replaced parts returned; manufacturer exchange requirements or other restrictions may prevent their return.

We do not guarantee an increase in value or preservation of a particular collector valuation.

5. Completion times and performance

Completion dates are estimates unless expressly guaranteed in writing. Parts availability, specialist work, hidden faults, and testing may affect timing. We will communicate material delays.

Accuracy and reliability depend on the watch’s design, age, condition, and available parts. Any agreed performance targets will be recorded in the approved scope of work.

Water resistance is not guaranteed unless expressly confirmed in writing following appropriate testing. A successful test reflects the watch’s condition at the time of testing; seals and components can deteriorate afterward.

6. Cancellation

You may request cancellation by email. We will stop work as reasonably practicable. You remain responsible for authorized work already performed, approved non-returnable parts already ordered, and agreed return shipping charges, subject to applicable law. Any unused deposit will be refunded after those amounts are reconciled.

7. Email-only invoicing and payment

INVOICES ARE SENT BY EMAIL ONLY. PAYMENT MUST BE COMPLETED THROUGH THE PAYMENT LINK OR PAYMENT INSTRUCTIONS PROVIDED IN THE EMAILED INVOICE. We do not ordinarily issue paper invoices or accept payment by telephone, post, or in person.

You must provide a valid, regularly monitored email address and maintain access to that account.

Your email provider may automatically direct our invoice to a spam, junk, promotions, or other filtered folder. Jaydnbrok Horology has no control over your email provider’s filtering. It is your responsibility to check these folders regularly for invoices and other service correspondence.

For purposes of the contractual payment deadline, an invoice is considered received when delivered to the email address you supplied, including delivery to a spam or junk folder, to the extent permitted by law. Delivery to a filtered folder does not extend the payment deadline. An email known to have bounced or failed delivery will not be treated as received.

If you believe an expected invoice has not arrived, contact us promptly by email so we can investigate and resend it. A duplicate invoice does not restart the payment period where the original was successfully delivered.

8. Payment deadline and release

The invoice must be paid in full within 30 calendar days of receipt.

Payment is complete when the full amount has been successfully received and cleared. Unless otherwise agreed in writing or required by law, the watch will remain in our possession until payment is complete.

Invoices will identify approved charges, applicable taxes, agreed shipping costs, and any deposit or credit. Raise questions or disputes promptly by email, identifying the charge concerned. Nothing in these terms limits your right to dispute a charge or pursue remedies available under law.

No late fee, interest, or storage charge will be imposed unless separately disclosed, agreed upon in advance, and permitted by law.

9. Unpaid repairs, lien, and sale of the watch

If your invoice is not paid in full within 30 calendar days of receipt, your account is overdue. Jaydnbrok Horology expressly reserves the right, to the extent permitted by Maryland law, to retain the watch under an artisan’s lien and sell it to recover unpaid repair charges.

Expiration of the invoice’s 30-day payment period does not, by itself, authorize an immediate sale.

Any sale will comply with Maryland Commercial Law §16-302 and other applicable requirements. Under that provision, repair costs must remain due and unpaid 90 days after completion of the work, and the owner must receive at least 30 days’ notice before sale through the legally required notice procedure. Where the owner’s address is known, notice will be mailed to the owner’s last known address.

The email-only invoicing policy does not replace legally required mailed notices.

Before sale, you may prevent the sale by paying the amounts lawfully required to satisfy the lien. Sale proceeds will be applied first to lawful sale expenses and then to the lien claim. Any remaining balance will be paid to the owner as required by law. Nonpayment does not automatically transfer ownership of the watch to Jaydnbrok Horology.

10. Service warranty

Our general service warranty lasts 30 days for any repair not classified as a “Service Overhaul” and one year for full mechanical movement “Service Overhauls” as described on the Service Overhaul page and shall begin from the date the watch is returned to you and covers defects attributable to the workmanship and replacement parts supplied within the approved service.

Contact us by email with a description of the issue before arranging a return. We will inspect the watch and remedy a covered defect without charge. Return arrangements and responsibility for shipping costs will be communicated when the claim is assessed.

The voluntary warranty excludes normal wear, accidental damage, misuse, improper operation, and faults unrelated to the work performed. All water damage is excluded. Subsequent third-party work excludes coverage only to the extent it causes or prevents assessment of the claimed defect.

This warranty does not limit rights or remedies available under applicable law.

11. Care, liability, and complaints

We will perform authorized services with reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for pre-existing defects or unrelated failures, except where our work causes or worsens them.

To the extent permitted by law, we do not accept liability for speculative loss of collector value or indirect business losses. Nothing excludes or limits liability for negligence where such exclusion is prohibited, fraud, willful misconduct, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Please report service concerns promptly by email and allow us a reasonable opportunity to inspect the watch and address the issue. This request does not shorten any statutory claim period.

12. Personal information

We use your contact details, watch information, and service records to administer repairs, communicate with you, process payment, arrange shipping, and meet legal obligations. Information may be shared with payment processors, carriers, or specialist service providers where necessary for those purposes.

Public use of photographs identifying you or your watch requires your separate consent.

13. Governing law and agreement

These terms are governed by Maryland law, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.

These terms, the approved estimate, and any agreed written changes form the service agreement. Changes must be agreed in writing and will not retroactively alter an existing service agreement without your consent.
